The Statistics for October, 2017
As has been the case for most of 2017, total dollar volume for October, 2017 continued the trend of outperforming it’s 2016 counterpart. In fact, all real estate categories showed increases in dollar volume over October, 2016. Led this time by a 350% increase in single-family home dollar volume in Snowmass Village, Aspen single-family home dollar volume had to take a back seat to Snowmass because it only increased a measly 149% over October, 2016! We’re talking about a small number of home sales in October, but, in Aspen’s case, we’re still talking about a one month, $46 million increase in single-family home sales over October, 2016!
Aspen – Aspen continued to show strong dollar volume increases in both single-family homes and condos. The combined dollar increase over October, 2016 was $51 million, and, Aspen’s year-to-date (YTD) combined dollar volume is up by over $555 million compared to YTD 2016! Total dollar volume in Aspen alone is over $1.040 billion for 2017, and we still have 60 days to go!
Snowmass – October’s combined dollar volume in Snowmass increased by $28 million over October, 2016. However, year-to-date numbers are just about even with YTD, 2016. YTD dollar volume for 2017 stands at just over $226 million for Snowmass Village.
Bottom Line – The 2017 market is going to obliterate sales volume in 2016! As of October 31st, our market is up some $555 million over YTD 2016, and we still have 60 days left in the year. In addition, there are currently 9 homes under contract north of $10 million that are scheduled to close before year’s end.
